BEACH VOLLEYBALL CAMPS @ BROOKHURST STREET

DESCRIPTION: Beach Elite was voted Best Volleyball Camp by Parenting OC's 2022 - 20th Annual Reader's Choice Awards. Beach volleyball camps hosted by the most fun and professional volleyball club around! This is our 6th year of hosting these ever popular camps in Coastal Southern California. We have 12 courts staffed with professional trained coaches and instructors. Camps are designed for girls and boys ages 6-18, beginner to advanced players. We teach competitive 2 on 2 beach volleyball for all age groups. Camps consist of warm ups, skills training and demonstration as well as drills and scrimmmages. Players are separated by skill level with about a coaches ratio of 10:1. All campers receive an official Beach Elite shirt, visor and backpack. Camps are Monday - Friday.

CAMP DATES: Week #11, August 21-25, 3 DAYS ONLY

TIME OPTIONS: Pick which time of day for your child to attend camp

  1. Mornings 9am-11:30am

  2. Afternoons 12pm-2:30pm

  3. All day 9am-2:30pm.

DAYS OPTION: Pick any 3 days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday

AGES: Boys and girls 6-18 years old

LEVELS: Beginner to Advanced(players separated by level. We have a lot of courts and coaches. We place higher level coaches with higher level players)

FRIDAY TOURNAMENTS (optional): Every Friday we host an AVP youth tournament (Aloha Friday Tournament Series) where players from all over the country come play for medals, prizes and AVP points. These typically start at 8am and go till about 2-3pm. All tournament players get free pizza as well! Our weekly Beach Elite campers that have some experience are welcome to play in these tournaments in lieu of the Friday camp day. The tournament is at the same Brookhurst Street location as camp but on different courts.For those that want to participate in the Aloha Friday Tournament Series instead of a normal camp daywill need to sign up for the tournament separately from camp (additional $40 per team which is 2 players)! WHAT TO BRING: Water Bottle, Snacks, Lunch (for all day players). We provide sunscreen SPF 50 and encourage kids to apply it often. We provide a water jug to refill water.

SAND SOCKS: For hot days we recommend sand socks to protect your child’s feet. CLICK HERE to purchase a pair! Socks can be picked up on first day of camp

REFUNDS: Afternoon camps are subject to cancellation if we do not have enough campers registered for the class. If this happens we will refund the afternoon portion. Other than a class cancelling there will be no refunds whatsoever for camp.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DAILY CAMP SCHEDULE

DIRECTIONS and PARKING: We are at Huntington State Beach @ Brookhurst Street. We are the last light before Newport Beach and the jetty. There is a convenient round about when you pull into Brookhurst for drop off and pick up. If you want to come into the park when Brookhurst entrance gate is closed enter at Magnolia street as that gate is always open. If you want to purchase a parking pass, which we recommend if you don't have a State Beach pass, email beachelite.adm@gmail.com to purchase a pass. We may have them for sale at camp in the registration tent (depending on availability) These expire Jan 1 2024.

DROP OFF/PICK UP: Roundabout on Brookhurst when you enter off of PCH. We will have a staff member at the roundabout to greet and direct players and parents to check in. There is a low traffic two lane road and a bike path that players cross to get to the camp and we will assist players to cross safely. We will also assist and supervise players at pick up by helping them get back to the pick up spot at the roundabout.

CHECK IN/CHECK OUT: (new for 2023) We plan to have Parent/Guardians sign in and sign out their child each day of camp with a camp instructor.
First Day of Camp -
Players and parents/guardians are to come to the check-in tent. There will be a staff member and table to check in. After checking in we will then direct you to pick up your child's gear (shirt, backpack, visor) and then direct them where to set their belongings and what court to report to for camp. If they ordered or want to buy sand socks and other gear we will have those at check in and will accept pay via Venmo.
All Other Days of Camp - Parent/Guardian check in/check out campers either curbside or at the registration tent.

ASSESSMENT/COURT ASSIGNMENTS:
For our camp players, we split them up according to age and/or skill level and each day we focus on a basic skill as well as add standard all around drills. The first day of camp is an assessment day where we may move some players to different courts to make sure everyone is at the appropriate skill level.

Tuesday - Setting
Wednesday - Hitting
Thursday - Serving
Friday - Review and Scrimmages for all campers. There is an optional tournament for those that have the ability to compete at a higher level. (see below)

WHAT TO BRING:
Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, hat and/or glasses. We provide visors, backpacks and shirts on the first day of camp. We provide sunscreen (although we can't apply it) extra water and canopies for shade at breaks.
